Mouse control Lambeth

A parent in a block of flats is claiming that an infestation of mice in the block, are the reason for her flat having fleas. The mother of three claims her children are being bitten by fleas coming from the mice infestation in the block of flats in Lambeth. The mother, who wishes to remain anonymous, says repeated pleas to her Housing Association and Lambeth Council to resolve the situation seem to have fallen on deaf ears.

She has claimed that large numbers of mice have made themselves at home in the last six months by nestling in the insulation between the walls and under floorboards at the rented accommodation. She shares her home with partner and three daughters, aged 12 years, 7 years and 19 months. She said: “The mice have been here now for nearly three years. It has been getting worse in the last six months with mice being seen on a regular daily basis. I’ve been on to the housing association and on to environmental health at the council many times and I just get the impression that they just aren’t interested. It’s absolutely disgusting. I’ve asked them what more proof they need before they decide to do something about it. They have to get this problem sorted before someone gets hospitalised or worse.”

A spokesman for the Housing Association said: “We take all reports of any vermin associated problems at our properties very seriously and always respond with appropriate action to rectify the situation and ensure the wellbeing of our residents. Although we can’t comment on individual cases, the property in question has been looked into and is currently being dealt with in the correct and appropriate way. Because of the number of flats in the block it is unfortunately going to take time as all the flats can’t be treated at the same time due to tenant’s work commitments and so on.
